Grant from Luce Initiative on Religion and International Affairs for UC Berkeley anthropologist Saba Mahmood

Anthropology professor awarded grant to study politics of religious freedom The Luce Initiative on Religion and International Affairs has awarded UC Berkeley anthropologist Saba Mahmood a three-year, $496,000 grant to study how law and politics are transforming religious freedom. Mahmood's work focuses on religious social movements, Islam, and the Middle East.
